    these will be made on 60 minute cassette tapes, approximately 26 minutes per side. the original vision of the album (while i was recording it) was to release a vinyl, so this tape preserves the intent that it be "side a" & "side b"...also, altho the dub will be made from digital (.wav) masters...the album was recorded using a 4-track cassette player & so this tape is a return to its origins. the covers will be hand-made with a variety of materials, containing drawings, poetry, watercolor, collage, and whatever else feels relevant. each will be made after the order is placed. $3 for shipping, other than that...pay what you will. recorded in atlanta, georgia in november and december of 2006... this album is almost 7 years old now, many of the songs are even older, & the person who made it has changed quite a bit. my original wish was that the album be listened to in its entirety, to be fully understood. as with a movie reel, you know? actually, because my intent was to make a vinyl record, "side a" ends with "dream" & "side b" begins with "friend," ...i recommend pausing for a bit in between the two sides & i programmed a 29 second gap between these two tracks when i first distributed the album to friends on cd. it never became a vinyl because i didn't have the money...still don't...and to be honest, it just felt more like a personal affair...rather than something i would have needed to promote and market. who knows what would have happened? but it still holds a special place in my heart. & now it is up hear for complete stranger-friends.

"perestroika" is russian for, as i understand it, "rebuilding" or "restructuring." i just think the word sounds pretty... the album was very much a "document" of a creature who has since shifted shape...died, if you will...to be reborn in another time & place.
